For our Yorkshire woollen mill partner, sustainability isn’t just a buzzword—it’s a steadfast commitment woven into everything they do as specialists in fine cashmere fabrics and accessories. The welfare of cashmere fibre suppliers, their animals, and the land they depend on is at the very heart of their operations.

That’s why our partner actively supports and collaborates with the Sustainable Fibre Alliance (SFA)—a global non-profit organization dedicated to driving transformative change in the cashmere industry.

Why the SFA Matters:
Founded in 2015, the SFA works directly in Mongolia, the heart of the world’s cashmere supply, to address urgent issues like overgrazing and desertification. By bringing together local communities, land management specialists, and environmental stakeholders, the SFA ensures a sustainable balance for both the environment and the people who rely on it.

Impactful Initiatives:
Through innovative standards like the Rangeland Stewardship Code and the Animal Husbandry and Fibre Harvesting Codes of Practice, the SFA champions responsible land use, humane animal treatment, and ethical fibre harvesting. In 2025 alone, their initiatives will reach over 4,000 herding families across 35 regions—fostering grassland restoration, improved animal welfare, and the sustainable economic development of herding communities.

Another crucial sustainability leader in our supply chain is our distribution partner:

  • ISO 14001 Environmental Accreditation: Our distribution partner implements the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS), an internationally recognized framework that reduces environmental impact and drives continual improvement. Since achieving accreditation in 2020, they’ve made ongoing improvements in waste reduction and resource efficiency.
  • Innovative Waste Management: They turn waste cardboard into eco-friendly packaging material using shredders, and segregate plastic and cardboard with compacting equipment to minimize transportation and support recycling.
  • Resource Optimization: Their lean, preventative processes help reduce the use of materials, energy, and labour—all while providing reliable service.

Together, our joint efforts push for a supply chain that’s both efficient and eco-friendly.

  • Plastic-Free Shipping: Our paper mailing bags are a practical, sustainably sourced, plastic-free alternative to polythene mailers. They’re fully recyclable and help us avoid single-use plastics.
  • Local Sourcing: Wherever we can, we work with local suppliers here in Yorkshire. Sourcing our packaging and services close to home helps shrink our carbon footprint, support the Yorkshire economy, and ensure supply chain transparency.
